Armin Rott studied economics in Bayreuth and Dortmund, where he received his Doctorate in 2003. He then joined the University of Hamburg’s Department of Economics as an assistant professor. Prior to its opening in 2003, he was an integral part of the Hamburg Media School’s planning team and he has been the academic director of the school’s MBA programs in Media Management. From 2008 to 2010 Armin Rott held a professorship in media economics and international management at Weimar’s Bauhaus University. In October 2010 he was appointed professor of economics at the University of Hamburg, where he heads the Institute for Media Economics. Since 2015 he has been the academic director of the Hamburg Media School.
